These terms explain what you can expect from TeenHire and what we expect from you. By creating an account you agree to them, so it is worth a couple of minutes to read.
Who can use TeenHire
- Teens and young adults aged 14 to 21 may create a job seeker account.
- Only real businesses with genuine job openings may create an employer account.
- If you are under 18, we recommend involving a parent or guardian before you start applying to jobs or meeting employers.
- One person, one account. Do not create accounts for other people or pretend to be someone else.
What TeenHire is, and what it is not
TeenHire is a platform that connects young job seekers with local businesses. We are not an employer, not a staffing agency, and not a party to any employment relationship formed through the app.
We do not guarantee that you will find a job, and we do not guarantee that a business will find a candidate.
Any employment agreement, pay, schedule and working conditions are decided directly between you and the business. Please use normal caution: meet in public or on business premises, tell a parent where you are going, and stop communicating if something feels wrong.
Age and hour rules
TeenHire filters job listings based on your age and applicable labor law. In Washington State this includes limits on how many hours minors may work per day and per week, and different limits during school weeks and non-school weeks. Businesses cannot publish a listing that is not permitted for the age group they select.
These filters are a helpful safeguard, not legal advice. Both teens and businesses remain responsible for following the law, including obtaining any required work permits or parent and school authorization forms.
Pricing
- Teens: free. Searching, applying, messaging, the resume builder, work hour tracking and savings goals cost nothing. There is no paid plan for teens.
- Businesses: a single job listing costs $10, or $25 per month for unlimited listings.
- Business payments are processed on our website by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Prices may change in the future. If they do, we will announce it before the change takes effect.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you write and upload: your resume, profile, job listings and messages. By posting content you give us permission to display it inside TeenHire so the service can function, for example showing your application to the employer you applied to.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you post. Do not upload anything that is false, offensive, illegal, or that belongs to someone else.
Rules of behavior
You may not use TeenHire to:
- Post fake job listings, scams, or offers that require payment from the applicant
- Harass, threaten, or send inappropriate content to any user, especially a minor
- Ask a minor to work hours or duties that are not legal for their age
- Collect personal information about other users for any purpose outside of hiring
- Attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorized access to the platform
We may suspend or remove any account that breaks these rules, without notice where safety is involved.
Reporting problems
Every conversation in the app has a report option, and it works both ways: teens can report an employer and employers can report an applicant. Reports reach us by email immediately. If you believe a young person is in danger, contact local authorities first, then tell us.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your profile page in the app. Deleting removes your profile, resume, applications, logged work hours and savings data. Some records may remain in encrypted backups briefly before being overwritten.
Liability
TeenHire is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TeenHire LLC is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your use of the platform, from a job you find through it, or from your interactions with any user. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and we will notify you in the app when a change is significant. Continuing to use TeenHire after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States.
